Thanksgiving 2007
Thanksgiving 2007! We are thankful for one and all.
This year we had thirty people around our Thanksgiving Table. Bob has had Thanksgiving at his house for the last 29 years. We had four generations from Aunt Pat (who is the last of the original Saccoccia's), all the next generation cousins, our children and their children. Michele has three of the fourth generation children, Both Barry and Lisa and Karen and Gary each have one fourth generation child. What a special year!
Family members traveled far and wide to return for our celebration. Patty moved back from Texas, Michele, Mary and the children live in Maine, Karen and Gary and Kara live in Massachusetts, Jon and David live in New York, We live in New Hampshire. All the other family members live in Rhode Island. We missed Brian and Tonya who are in Florida and Paul and Aubrey who are in Sokcho, S. Korea. Paul and Aubrey will be celebrating their own Thanksgiving with their new friends on Sunday.
The holiday was extra special because of our visitors. We welcomed Katherine back from Ohio and John and Lauraleigh Giso from New Hampshire. Our family opens its arms and their homes to welcome each and every person. All the visitors spend the night wherever there is room and everyone is welcome!
Wednesday nite we help with preparations. Then on Thanksgiving day, we ate and ate and ate! We celebrated the Thanksgiving birthdays, Aunt Pat turned 91 years old and Elizabeth turned 14 years old. After dinner, some of us played football, others took a walk. But...we all made room for dessert!
This year we added something new...a Memory Book. Everyone wrote a memory of one of their Thanksgivings...after 29 years...there were some wonderful memories. Donna remembered the year the toilet broke and Bill had to find a new toilet on Thanksgiving Day for Bob's one bathroom so we could continue with the celebration. Maddy, Lisa and Melissa remembered being warmly welcomed into the family celebration. Kara remembered going shopping the day after Thanksgiving with me while the boys raked leaves at Uncle Bob's (or..were supposed to be raking rather than playing with the leaves...) Patty remembered playing cards with Meme (my mother) while Bob was trying to get us all to leave so he could go to work at his third shift Almacs job....so many memories. We will "capture" more memories next year. We celebrated both the living members and all those we love who have passed on and were not with us.
It was a joyous occasion. Family is so precious We thank God one and All for our Blessings of love and family!
Enjoy the pictures.... and remember...... Thank God for your family!
