East Shoal Bay
On Sunday there are sailboat races (sailboat racing is the national sport) from one end of the Island to the other.
We had the pleasure of spending the day at East Shoal Bay where the sand is so soft we did not even realize that our feet had left the sidewalk. Then, we saw the water! The beautiful shades of aquamarine just took our breath away.
We spent the day frolicking in the warm water and walking the beach...
Cooking in Anguilla
We are on day 6 of our Anguilla holiday. On day 3 I found Rainbow Farm in Anguilla. Their fresh vegetables are just delicious.
They grow several different kinds of lettuce including red, romaine, green leaf and red leaf. Just the taste of fresh produce is enough to make me feel a little 'taste of heaven'.
They also grow scrumptious tomatoes and peppers. The food was so beautiful, I decided to post them on my blog! What a treat eating a salad of fresh greens, tomatoes, green peppers, and scallions.
Notice the mountains in the background. Every morning this wonderful view of St. Maartin greets us with a cheery 'hello'. In the evening, we say goodnight to the ocean and the lights of St. Maartin. How beautiful and relaxing can you get!

New York City - April 2008
Sheila and I visited Jon and Michelle for a few days in April. I drove there and thank goodness for a good GPS (thanks, Howard). We did not have any problem driving along and navigating on the streets of New York.
Once we arrived, the gentlemen working on the street helped me to parallel park....people were very friendly and the scenery was beautiful.
Anyway, we took buses and traveled to tourists sites. When we were tired of walking, we took more buses or taxi's.
We ate in lovely restaurants, met wonderful people, took a carriage ride through Central Park, had our picture taken with David Hyde Pierce and just enjoyed the beautiful city....here's to another trip to NYC!

The Exploring Cousins- The Freedom Trail
The 'Exploring Cousins' get together about every two months or so and visit different sites around New England. It is a wonderful way to see each other and to spend time together.
So far this year we visited the John F. Kennedy Library, the Newport Mansions and walked part of The Freedom Trail in Boston. This photo is of our group standing in the back yard of the "Breakers" a mansion owned by the Vanderbilt's in Newport, RI.
Since we all come from different directions, we meet at a central location. Not everyone of us is able to make each trip. Bob, Karen and Gary could not come to The Freedom Trail, but they will come on the next trip! And, we picked up honorary family members...Sheila and Ken have joined us on several trips.
What do you know, we have even learned a thing or two along the way.....
In May, the Exploring Cousins walked The Freedom Trail in Boston. We had a beautiful spring day to explore, shop (well, some of us that is) and visit with each other.
This time, we met up at Boston Common. I learned Boson got its name from a town in England. The 'Common' got its name because this was an area for anyone at that time (1700's) to use the land. Can you imagine during the 1700's cows grazed on the very land we were walking on!
Our guide brought us through some interesting areas and told us little tid bits about many of the good ole' boys. Our tour ended at Fanueil Hall, but we managed to continue the walking tour on our way. We walked to the North End and visited The Old North church. Then we had a delicious dinner at G'Vanni's (www.gvannis.com) where a dinner for two with a bottle of wine cost $29.00....After dinner, we managed a stop at a pastry shop and then walked back to the Common where we said our 'goodbye's'.
Stay tuned for our next adventure!

Desert Time
What's a trip to Boston without a trip to the pastry shop.....
Looks like there is enough pastry in that bag to keep us all full and happy, good going, Pat!

Walking the Freedom Trail
It's been a long walk and we all enjoyed every step! We had one last look at the Mime in Fanueil Hall and then it was big hugs and kisses all around! Until our next 'Exploring Cousins' event!

New Years Eve 2007
We welcomed in 2008 at The Brookstone-Park in Derry with our dear friends The Hands'. We ate a delicious dinner, listened to two comedians and then we danced the night away! Howard was a dancing fool! Finally, while watching Dick Clark on a large screen TV, we welcomed in the New Year with a champagne toast.
We wish all our friends and family a happy and healthy New Year in 2008!
